The visa waiver for Chinese tourists

All citizens of the Republic of China are able to stay in Iran for up to 21 days from the date of entry without applying for the visa.

 

Iran Deputy Head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, announced.

On June 29, the Iranian Cabinet approved that Chinese tourists visiting Iran do not need a visa.

 

The decision was made to attract more foreign tourists to Iran.

Although it is a unilateral measure, and Iranian tourists still need to obtain visas to visit China.

China is the largest outbound travel market in the world and is growing further. In 2018, Chinese  made more than 150 million trips abroad.

 

Recently, Iran took similar steps to increase its income from tourism under US sanctions, Iran will not stamp the passports of visiting foreigners anymore.
