In Isfahan, cross the stone bridges over the Zayandeh Rud River and stand in Naqsh-e Jahan Square, a living canvas of Safavid architecture and public life where mosques and palaces frame centuries of craftsmanship and daily rhythms, and finally, Shiraz, which is an unparalleled gem of the intertwining of poetry, culture, art, literature, history, and mysticism.
Shiraz and the nearby ancient sites are your tour’s dramatic final. At Persepolis, you’ll walk among the stone columns and carved reliefs of an empire that still speaks in its ruins about the mightiest king in humankind history.
Just a short distance away, Pasargadae reveals the Tomb of Cyrus the Great, celebrated as one of history’s most remarkable leaders and author of the first Declaration of Human Rights. This land is the birthplace of Persia’s earliest royal gardens. These are the places photographers chase and travelers truly remember.
There are moments of travel that will stay in your memory forever: Drinking a traditional Iranian drink in a cozy cafe, the pleasant sound of prayer in the mosque courtyard, the bargaining smile in lively bazaars, and the most hospitable people on earth who always have a smile on their faces.
